Axis
axis Hunts
Native to India and Sri Lanka, Axis deer have become one of Texas’ most recognizable exotic species and are well suited to a mix of open grassland and wooded habitat.
Distinctive Appearance
Axis are known for their reddish-brown coats, white spots, and dark stripe along the back. Mature males carry tall, three-tined antlers that make them especially distinctive.
Alert and Social
Axis often travel in groups and remain highly aware of their surroundings. Their movement, sharp senses, and social behavior make them both interesting to observe and challenging to pursue.
Hunting at the Ranch
Axis hunts at Texas Hidden Springs are fully guided and customized around each guest’s experience, goals, and preferred pace.
